Janice Truett's Obituary
Janice Truett, of Madisonville, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 26, 2024. She was born in Rockford, Illinois on March 12, 1937.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, James L Truett, Jr.; daughter, Pamela Jo Monge; her twin sister, Barbara LaPier; her parents Vincent Carl and Betty Jane Lerch Johnson.
She is survived by her daughter, Debbi Mehaffey (Michael); her grandchildren Nicole, Tyler (Bridget) and Heather Mehaffey, Michael, Andrew and Matthew Monge; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
Jan’s life was filled with adventure and travel. She touched many lives at every step. She was fortunate to reside in several different states, including California, Montana, Arizona, North Carolina and Florida. Her 20 years in Pensacola Beach will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren as a beloved family gathering place where they spent many summers at the beach. She was a devoted member of First Baptist Church and enjoyed participating in Young at Heart and Sunday School. Her unwavering faith sustained throughout her lifetime.

Relatives, friends and neighbors are invited to attend a Memorial Service and Celebration of Life on Monday, May 6, 2024, at 2:00 PM in The Chapel at First Baptist Church of Covington, 16054 Murphy Road, Covington, Louisiana. Interment will be in the Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola, Florida at a later date.
