Lt. Col. Janet Barbara Reynolds' Obituary
Lt. Col Janet Barbara Reynolds passed away on April 20, 2024 in Mandeville, LA. She was 75. She was born on April 27, 1948 in Shreveport, LA and was a resident of Mandeville, LA. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Huhner Reynolds and Barbara Troegel Reynolds, her brother, James “Jimmy” Huhner Reynolds, Jr. and her sister, Patricia Reynolds. She is survived by her daughter, Megan Gardner (Matthew) and her grandsons, Matthew Gardner, Jr. and Waylon Gardner and her granddaughter Cecilia Gardner. Janet proudly served her country in the United States Air Force and retired with the rank of Lt. Col and served during the Operation Desert Storm. She graduated from Northwestern State University with a bachelor’s degree and then earned her master’s degree in nursing. After retiring from the Air Force, she taught a nursing assistance program at Caddo Career Center and Fairpark High School.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, May 6, 2024 at 11:00 am at St Peter Catholic Church, 125 E. 19th Avenue, Covington, LA, and the visitation will begin at 10:00 am at the church. The Graveside Service will be held at 1:30 pm in the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, 34888 Grantham College Drive, Slidell, LA with full military honors.
