Janet Ruth Jackson's Obituary
Janet Ruth Jackson passed away peacefully on Friday, December 15, 2023, at her home in Mandeville. She was born in New Orleans in 1959 but grew up in Covington, Louisiana. Eventually, she moved to Mandeville where she lived until her final day. Janet loved Old Mandeville, the lakefront, her kids, grandkids, family, and her dog Dolly.
Janet touched so many lives and was a bright light everywhere she went. She could always make you smile or be so blunt you couldn’t help but laugh. She dedicated over 30 years of her life to working at Mandeville High School and was proud to be a Skipper. Janet was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Troy, and Jerry Prieto Jackson; as well as her longtime partner Arthur Paul Braiwick. Janet is survived by her daughter, Amy Elizabeth Green (Drew), her son, Kyle Hunter Bone (Cayla), her grandchildren Lyla Grace Green, Jackson Thomas Green, and Kaleb Hunter Bone; as well as her brother, Kent Jackson (Linda) and Uncle Lafayette Bruce Jackson.
