Janet Patricia Phillbrook Isaac's Obituary
Janet Patricia Philbrook Isaac went home to with be our Father in Heaven on November 16, 2022 at the age of 89. She was surrounded by her loving family in her special garden room at home built by her loving husband of 62 years.
Janet, affectionately known as “MawMaw,” leaves to cherish her memory her five children, Cheryl Arabie (Greg) of Mandeville, Cathy Welton (Ralph) of Clemson, South Carolina, Christy Reimsnyder (Rob) of Gautier, Mississippi and Jean Carolyn “Toots” Isaac of Covington, Louisiana; her daughter-in-law, Ann Isaac of Houston, Texas; her eleven grandchildren, Heather, Elizabeth, Gregory, Jean, Erin, Ashley, Rob, Abbey, Ryan, and Rachel; and her 17 great grandchildren.
Janet was preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, Joseph Clifford Isaac, Jr.; her son, Joseph (Joe) Isaac, III; and her grandson, Jeff Arabie.
Janet was born in Springfield, Illinois, on March 24, 1933 and a resident of Louisiana for 80 years and of those 50 in Covington. She was a charter member of St. Timothy on the Northshore United Methodist Church where she was active in Alert, Disciple classes, Vacation Bible School, especially the Choir that she participated in every Sunday for all services for many years. Janet volunteered with Meals on Wheels, Samaritan Center, and a member of Telephone Pioneers. She was an avid crocheter and made hats for the Cancer patients at the Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center and the Methodist Children’s Home.
Janet was employed by Boatel Offshore Catering Service, Plantation Homes incorporated and 25 years with South Central Bell Telephone Company as a Division Level Administrative Assistant. Janet was very creative and enjoyed crocheting, gardening, quilting, sewing and spending time with her family. Her crafts are enjoyed by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. They are adored and cherished in their homes and their hearts.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service at St. Timothy on the Northshore, 335 Asbury Drive, Mandeville, LA on Wednesday, November 23, 2022, at 11:00 AM with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM until service time.
