Jane Pittman Fornea's Obituary
The family of Jane Pittman Fornea would like to announce that she passed away peacefully at her home in Covington on Friday, June 28, 2024, at the age of 85. She was born in Tylertown, Mississippi, on November 13, 1938, to the late Marlice W. Pittman and Bobbie Phillips Pittman.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years, Donald T. Fornea of Varnado, Louisiana.
She is survived by 2 daughters, Kim Fornea (Wes) and Sheri Fornea Brewster (Donald); a son, Bret Fornea (Teresa); grandchildren, Terry Fornea, Brandon Fornea, Bradley Fornea, Bryan Fornea; 2 granddaughters, Stephanie Thomas Liverett (Greg) and Brittany Fornea; a brother, Larue Pittman of Independence, Louisiana; a sister, Lynn Lee of Madisonville, Louisiana; and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Jane was involved in many activities. She loved needlework and worked at a shop in downtown Covington. She was also a professional hairdresser for many years. An avid bowler, Jane played on a team called “The Knockouts” at Tiffany Lanes from 1986 until 1991, winning a few league championships with the team during that time. Her family loved to travel all over the United States and abroad, even becoming members of the Cruisin’ Cajuns as evidence of their passion for travel.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at 1:00 PM at E. J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 West 21st Avenue, Covington, Louisiana, with visitation beginning at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow in Old Fornea Cemetery in Varnado, Louisiana.
