James "Jim" Wendell Statton's Obituary
James (Jim) Wendell Statton passed away on Friday, February 28, 2020. He was born on June 27, 1935 in Minneloa, KS to James and Thelma (Ralstin) Statton.
Jim is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Barbara (Bryan) Statton; his children Diana Brown, Larry Statton (Alison), Debbie Perkins (Wayne), and Jom Statton (Judy); and his grandchildren Melea Sawyer, Becky Franzese, Dana Thompson, Leah Statton, Jack Statton, Jewelia Gans, Chris Perkins, Tori Statton and great grandsons Bryce and Brayden Allen.
Jim is preceded in death by his sister Velita Smith and his grandson Madison Statton.
Jim was the owner of Jim’s Feedstore in Bentonville, Arkansas before selling his business and becoming the top car salesman for 10 years at Bob Maloney Ford in Rogers, Arkansas. He also owned a collectables business called Stuff-n-More for 20 years.
Jim coached his children’s baseball, softball and bowling teams and was a Cub Scout master. He loved to take his family camping and to the beach. Jim was a member of the Bentonville First United Methodist Church where he served as an usher and taught Sunday School for many years. After Jim moved to Mandeville, he joined St. Timothy United Methodist Church where he also served as an usher and was a member of the Friendship Class.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Celebration of Life service at St. Timothy United Methodist Church, 335 Asbury Drive, Mandeville LA 70471 on Saturday, March 14th with visitation beginning at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Timothy United Methodist Church Memorial Garden.
