James D. Rives, Jr.'s Obituary
James Davidson Rives, Jr. passed away November 18, 2010. A resident of Covington for over 40 years, he was born July 30, 1925 in New Orleans to the late Dr. James D. and Marion Smith Rives.
The beloved husband of Mary Elizabeth Thibaut Rives, he is survived by one daughter, Katherine Jane Rives; three sons: James D., III, Frank W. and Bronier T. Rives and four grandchildren: Kathleen Rives Bogart, Lotus Wanasilpin, and Bryce J., and Michael J. Rives.
He was married to Mary Elizabeth Thibaut Rives for sixty-three years. He also served in the US Marine Corps during World War II. He attended New Orleans Academy, received his BA (1948) and law degree (1950) at Tulane University, worked for several years as a petroleum landsman, and then practiced law until his retirement in 1990.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend memorial services at 11:00 AM on Friday, November 26, 2010 at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Ave., Covington, LA 70433.
Visiting hours will begin Friday at 9:00 AM.
Interment at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens in Covington will take place at a later date.
