James "Jim" Paul Finch's Obituary
James Paul “Jim” Finch passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2011. A resident of Covington since 1972, he was born April 23, 1927 in Mount Hermon, LA to the late Joel Albert and Hallie Loving Finch.
The beloved husband of Kathryn Raborn Finch for 57 years, he is survived by his son, Douglas “Kip” Finch and his partner Jim Ezell; daughter, Amy Lee Finch and her husband Chris Pounds; three grandchildren: Zachary and Bailey Domke and Samuel Smith. He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Tommy and Carey Finch.
A veteran of U.S. Navy, he served his country during WW II. He re-enlisted in the U.S. Air Force to serve during the Korean War. After graduating from Southeastern College in Hammond, LA, he began a long career in oil field which he enjoyed even after his retirement. He was an active Mason and Shriner and was a dedicated member of First Baptist Church of Covington.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend memorial services at 1:00 PM on Saturday, April 16, 2011 at The First Baptist Church of Covington, 16333 Highway 1085 Covington, LA 70433.
Visiting hours at the church will begin Saturday at 11:00 AM.
Private interment services will be held at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens in Covington at a later date.
