James Vincent Montz Jr.'s Obituary
James Vincent “Jim” Montz, Jr. passed away on Saturday, November 22, 2014 in Covington, LA. He was born on September 18, 1942 in New Orleans, LA to the late James Vincent Montz, Sr. and Clementine Verriere Montz.
Jim was married to his beloved wife, Yvette Marshall Montz, for 49 years and together they had three children, Dan J. Montz (Tina), Dr. Nancy C. Montz (Dr. Kirk Campbell), and David V. Montz (Mitzi). He was the brother of Ronald C. Montz (Pamela), Gayle M. Odum, and Judy Montz. He will be dearly missed by his close friend, Carol Weigand.
Jim graduated from Nicholls State University in 1969 with a B.A. in Education. He served as a member of the U.S. Navy-Reserve C.B. Unit. He worked for LP&L-Entergy as a Right-of-Way Agent for 25 years. Jim was an ardent fisherman and loyal LSU fan.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass on Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 4465 Highway 190 East Service Rd., Covington, LA 70433, at 12 Noon with Visitation from 10:30 AM until service time. Interment will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2014 at 10:00 AM in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Covington, LA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in the name of James V. Montz, Jr. be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, www.lls.org, or the Wounded Warrior Project, www.woundedwarriorproject.org. Please, Share a Memory on the Tribute Wall.
