I send sincerest condolences to you and your very young family for the tragic loss of James "Mac" in your lives. I am Sharon Vergez Vercellotti, now the senior member of the Vergez family from Covington whose father was Henri Vergez and mother, Thelma Galloway Vergez. . As a long time family associated with the McLachlan's, we do hold dear all of our memories with Mac's grandfather and grandmother as well as his father, Jimbo, his uncle Andy, and aunt Meg. They have probably told you of growing up around my grandfather's and father's metal shop, welding, helping to repair machines,keeping the shop orderly, socializing, and just sharing a lot of fishing and hunting lore that they valued so much. We suppose that Jimbo and Andy reminisced with you about some of their associations from all those years in company of the Vergez family. We wish you much success in completing your coming months as the new baby comes into your life. You are in our prayers. We are sending a memorial donation to the St. Tammany Hospital Foundation in remembrance of Mac's wonderful life.

Jimbo and Family,
There are no words to express the shock and deep sadness to hear of Mac’s death. My heart breaks for all of you as you process the unimaginable. I’ll always cherish the memories of the years Mac played at LSU and all the fun we had cheering him on. He always had time for my boys who loved and idolized him. All the Schoens loved him so. He even made time to make them feel special during the busy weeked of the National Championship.
May God help you, Linda, and all his family during your deep grief. May He comfort you all.
