James R. Jenkins' Obituary
James R. “Bob” Jenkins passed away on Saturday, July 25, 2009.
Beloved husband of 42 years to Elizabeth Bischoff Jenkins; loving father to Matthew Jenkins, Laura Jenkins Wesley and Samuel Jenkins; brother of Irma Lang, Katie Fedele, Maxine “Sweetie” Early and her husband Bobby, Samuel Jenkins and his wife Kathy, Thomas Jenkins, and Gary Jenkins and his wife Virginia. He was preceded in death by his mother, Laurita Davenport Jenkins; his father, Samuel W. Jenkins; sister, Mary Ellen Donaldson; and three brothers, Paul, George and Leslie Jenkins.
Age 68 years, he was native of Bush, LA and a resident of Abita Springs, LA for the past 34 years. A United States Army Veteran, he served during the Vietnam Era. An attorney by profession, he was program director for Gulf Coast Teaching Family Services.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to a Celebration of Christian Burial Mass on Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at 11:00 AM from St. Jane de Chantel Catholic Church, Abita Springs, LA.
A wake will be on Tuesday, July 28, 2009 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 West 21st Avenue, Covington, LA 70433.
Visitation on Wednesday will be AT THE CHURCH from 9:00 to 11:00 AM.
Interment will follow in Grantham Cemetery in Bush, LA.
