A poem about Bruce:
Bruce was a great man, a man that loved life
He loved his family and friends and his beautiful wife
I knew him from Francos, a place he would go
To exercise his body, but mostly his mouth as you know
He didn’t know a stranger and big smile he wore
I’ll miss my friend Bruce, a man I adored
He’s been called stubborn and forgetting to grab his walker or cane
Before leaving his house, he admits he was a pain
We sat by the fire and chatted about life
About my kids and his kids and his “latest fall” strife
We talked about State, In Mississippi, his alma mater
We knew the same places and chatted about my daughter
I brought him back t-shirts and mugs from The campus he knew
So Ms Louis could fill them up with her hot Starbucks brew
At Francos he was family and we loved him so dearly
The friends from Fit Circuit so appreciated him so clearly
Celebrations and his birthday in November was fun
Bruce was a great man and my heart he had won
Heaven gained a great man and he will be dearly missed
Thoughts and prayers to his family, his memory forever will exist
