Jacqueline "Sweetie" Hatchell Brown's Obituary
Jacqueline “Sweetie” Hatchell Brown, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, went Home to be with her Lord on Thursday, March 15, 2018. She was 89. Mrs. Brown and her beloved husband, Rev. Harold “Papa” Brown, founded Fair Haven Children’s Home in Covington, Louisiana in 1966. Mrs. Brown was born in Kirbyville, Texas in 1928, and was a resident of Covington for 54 years. Known to many as Mama, and many more as “Sweetie, she is survived by her daughter Sherilyn “Sissie” Huffman; her three sons, Timothy, Michael, and Jamie Brown; her brother, David Rose; and many more precious and loved children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Harold Brown; mother and stepfather, Boyce and William Rose; father, Jack Wells Hatchell; daughter, Dolly Jean McClellan.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service @ New Zion at 3:00 PM on Sunday, March 18, 2018 at New Zion Baptist Church, 17387 New Zion Baptist Church Rd. Covington, LA 70435.
Visitation on Saturday, March 17, 2018 from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM at E. J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st. Ave., Covington, LA 70433 and on Sunday, March 18, 2018 at New Zion Baptist Church from 1:00 PM to service time.
Interment in Pilgrim Rest Cemetery Covington, LA.
