Jacquelin Caskie Guillot's Obituary
Jacquelin Caskie Guillot, age 65, died peacefully on Thursday, August 4, 2011.
She was home and surrounded by family at her bedside. Jackie battled heart disease, metastatic breast and ovarian cancer.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years Ronald “Ronnie” Benedict Guillot, and four children. Ron Guillot and wife Dr. Alexandra Theriault, Leesa Guillot Tumen and husband George all of whom live in Denver, Colorado as well as Michael Guillot and wife Ashly, and Chris Guillot and wife Lisa, who reside in Mandeville, La. Jackie was the proud grandmother of Hayes, Anna, Remy and Elle. She is also survived by a brother, Bobby Caskie, and sister, Elizabeth Ferguson, and several nieces and nephews.
Jackie was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Ambler Caskie and Anna Yanchuck Caskie.
After a childhood spent in Shreveport, Jackie attended Northwestern State in Natchitoches where she studied art. Jackie and Ronnie raised their family in Algiers before moving to Mandeville in 2004. Jackie will be remembered as a wife, mother and grandmother. She will also be remembered as a gardener and artist. Her art included still life paintings, various folk arts, custom ponds and a plethora of ceramics and pottery made on her kiln. Jackie was humble about her art and preferred to give her art away over selling it. Jackie enjoyed Louisiana food and foods of the world. She loved life to the fullest and never took herself too seriously. Her straightforwardness and honesty made her who she was. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
The family would like to thank the staff at St. Tammany Hospice and St. Tammany Parish Hospital for their dedication, support and care.
Relatives and friends are invited to the memorial services at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Avenue, Covington, LA 70433 on Tuesday, August 9, 2011at 2:00 PM with visitation on Tuesday from 12:00 noon until service time.
