Jacob “Jimmie” Alfred Young, Sr. passed away on Monday, April 30, 2012.
Beloved husband of Mary Taranto Young for 69 years. Father of J.A. Young, Jr. (Janet), Diane Young Hof (Daniel), Ray Young (Stephanie) and the late Patricia Young Scaccia and Susan Young. Grandfather of Kimberly, Joseph, Jennifer (Fernando), Jacob III, Stephanie, James, Jr., Jason (Carly), Christopher, Chuckie, Chad and the late Vincent. Also survived by 8 great-grandchildren.
Age 91 years. A native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Mandeville, LA for the past 7 years. He was a decorated Army veteran of WWII including a Purple Heart. He retired from D.H. Holmes in New Orleans. He was a member of the Disabled American Veteran and Veteran of Foreign War.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the memorial service at Mary, Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 1501 W. Causeway Appr., Mandeville, LA 70471 on Monday, May 21, 2012 at 11:30 AM. Visitation from 10:00 AM until service time.
In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations to First American Bank in his name.First Community Bank to Diane Hof for the care of Mrs. Young.
