Jacob Charles Jones' Obituary
Jacob Charles Jones (26), of Zachary, LA passed away on Monday June 5, 2012.
“Jake” is the son of Julie LaCroix Jones and James Douglas Jones of Prairieville, LA. He graduated from West Ouachita High School near West Monroe, LA in 2004 and married Emily Elizabeth Swift in 2007. He received a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Louisiana Tech University in 2010, and at the time of his passing, resided with his wife and two children in Zachary, Louisiana.
Jake was a varsity football player in high school who not only performed to a high level on the football field, but was also highly recognized for academic excellence. His wife and children formed the center of his universe, complemented by the love and devotion he had for his parents, sister, grandparents, and other relatives.
Jake was an active member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Zachary. He was passionate about hunting, fishing, and time in the outdoors with his family and relatives.
He is remembered as a mild-mannered, patient, loving, considerate and tenacious man who didn’t complain and never quit. He was a pleasure to be around and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Jake is survived by his wife Emily and two children: Sarah (4) and Ann (1); His parents, Julie and James Jones; his sister, Jennifer Margaret Jones; and his grandparents, uncles, aunts, and cousins.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the memorial mass at St. Benedict Catholic Church, 20370 Smith Rd., Covington, LA 70435 on Saturday, June 16, 2012 at 11:00 AM.
Visiting hours at the church will begin Saturday at 10:00 AM.
