Jack Burton Grubb's Obituary
Jack Burton Grubb was received into the loving arms of our Lord on Sunday, February 3, 2008.
Born in Muskogee, Oklahoma, he grew up in New Orleans and attended Tulane University, Delgado College and the Baptist Theological Seminary. He served in the United States Marine Corps in the Pacific Theater during WWII. Jack retired from Delta Airlines after 33 years and was an aficionado of bromeliads, having been a member and president of both the Greater New Orleans Bromeliad Society and the International Bromeliad Society. Jack moved to Mandeville in 1994, became a member of St. Timothy United Methodist Church, where he served on the Administrative Council and taught Bible studies for many years.
Jack is survived by his adoring wife of eight years, Linda Gill Grubb, sister and brother-in-law Kathryn and Sam Wilburn, brothers and sisters in law Alan and Sarah Grubb, Dan and Patti Grubb, Don and Sharon Grubb, and sisters in law Pat Gill and Judith Wilkinson and many loving friends. He was preceded in death by his brothers Roy and Joe Grubb and his mother Irene Lovett.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the memorial services on Wednesday, February 6, 2008 at 11:00 AM at St. Timothy United Methodist Church, 335 Asbury Dr., Mandeville, LA 70448.
Visitation on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until service time.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Jack B. Grubb Ministerial Scholarship Fund at St. Timothy United Methodist Church. E.J. Fielding Funeral Home Inc., 2260 W. 21st. Ave., Covington, LA 70433 entrusted with the arrangements.
