Dear Clay, Malise, Jeri and Family,

My condolences to the Prieto Family. I know Ernest will be missed terribly by all. What a great guy! I enjoyed working with Ernest on a few Real Estate deals. Tough, concise, honest and sometimes grumpy; but we always parted with a warm smile and sincere handshake. He invited me to Manresa on more than one occasion. I wish that I had joined him. I know he is in heaven with our Lord and Savior, likely trying to organize files for some celestial land deal.

Mr. Prieto was a great person. He was a close friend of my father (Pat Monroe) for decades. I remember how personable he was to everyone, and always seemed to make everyone smile and laugh.

Mr. Prieto was a leader in the community and a very devoted Catholic. It was truly an honor to know him.

My heart goes out to his family and friends.

Dear Malise,
I so regret that I will not be able to attend the funeral tomorrow, due to a prior commitment, but your Father and all of you have been and will continue to be in my prayers. A Mass has been offered for him in the Abbey infirmary chapel where I go each day. Though I didn't know him well, I was aware that his faith was a major part of his life, and I'm sure that touched many. May God give you consolation from that as you suffer his loss.

Malise, Clay, Ernie, and family: Mandeville and St. Tammany Parish has lost another native son in the passing of your dad. He was a great man with a wonderful personality and he will surely be missed by all of us who knew and loved him. Mandeville is much better because he lived. The donations made by your family have been many but I am especially proud of the property donation(s) for our Fire District. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers.
