Iris Nell Spinks Jourdan, born August 19, 1940 passed away on Wednesday, December 19, 2018.
Beloved wife of 56 years to Lawrence Rene “Cotton” Jourdan. Loving mother of Robin Smith, Misty Appe and Scott Appe. Grandmother of D. J. and Luke Appe, Charlie, Cole and the late Cade Smith. Daughter of the late Louis A. Spinks and Noran A. Spinks. Sister of Louie Jean Spinks Magee, Carol Spinks Griffith, brother Chris Spinks, Jackie Spinks Mooney, Martha Spinks Moore and the late Gary Spinks, Ronnie Spinks and Connie Spinks. Loving sister-in-law, Aunt, Great Aunt and Great-great Aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Iris was a resident of Folsom, Louisiana and a long time member and servant of Bogue Falaya Baptist Church. She is a retired employee with 27 years of service at the St Tammany Parish Assessor’s Office. Her strength, faithfulness to God, and love and devotion to her family and friends is a testament to the special lady she was.
In recent years she was blessed to have the most loving special caregivers ViVi Ostarly, Suezane Belton and Nachelle Bunns. Also, her home health nurse Gloria Garcia.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services at Bogue Falaya Baptist Church, 78689 Hwy 25, Folsom, LA 70437 on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at 12:00 noon with visitation at church on Saturday beginning at 10:00 AM.
Interment will follow in Bogue Falaya Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Bogue Falaya Baptist Church Building Fund, address above.
