Jan and Mom (also known as Mimi and Maw-Maw shared a very special bond. Here they are taking Haley on a field trip together! This is almost 20 years ago.
Mom loved her flower beds. Dad bought her so many thru the years. Her favorite color were the yellow ones. She always had the most beautiful ferns and flowers.

Precious times with their neighbors Dyal and Gloria Walley. They were lifelong friends. Their sons Derrick and Doug grew up with us. We shared Christmas Eve together each year. Mom and Dad started a traditional meal of fried quail, rice and tomato gravy with homemade biscuits. Tina always made the layered salad and Gloria made Eve special desserts. After dinner we would sit by the fire and exchange gifts. The two men dressed up were Daddy and Dyal on Easter morning before church. Dyal is visiting with his first grandchild Allison with Dad.
Mom and Dad enjoyed the carnival season. Going to several Mardi Gras Balls each season was so fun for them.
Moms favorite color of roses was yellow. Lighting this candle to say the flame of her life lives on in her family. We greatly miss her.
