I knew Ian professionally over 20 years, we spent many, many hours talking on skype and I met up with him once as he passed through London. Unfortunately, although we tried hard, we never developed a way to work together on a project, though many things he told me were put into practice and taken into consideration.
A very positive, self assured and determined man who I saw as a reflection of myself, though he was more solid than me. He enjoyed his life and loved his family.
On a spiritual level, my understanding is that there is no death for the soul.. something Ian and I did discuss a few times. He is alive and within us. His soul has 'gone' nowhere and may his positive spirit (attitude) survive and be seen in all who knew him. Let us create his heaven by doing the things he enjoys.
Luke 17:20-21
20 And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation:
21 Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.
