Horace was born and raised in New Orleans Louisiana and graduated from Warren Easton High School. At the age of 18 he enlisted in the Navy and worked on the submarines for 2 years. From there he became a New Orleans police officer for 28 years and worked his way up the ranks to Lieutenant. He was honored and passionate everyday to protect and serve his community. He met his wife, Kathleen Galan Giroir, while on a detail he was on for the making of a movie with Paul Newman and they married 8 months later in July 1975. They lived and raised their 4 children in Chalmette Louisiana. One of Horace’s favorite pastimes was trying different kinds of amazing foods and we created so many cherished memories with him as we got to experience this with him.
