Hollis Frank Welch Sr.'s Obituary
Hollis Frank Welch, Sr., passed away on Saturday March 27, 2021 at the age of 75. He is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Barbara Fussell Welch; his children Hollis F. Welch, Jr. (Janelle), Shannon D. Welch (Binky) and Donna K. Ratcliff (Terry); and his brother Michael Welch (Sue). Hollis is also survived by his grandchildren, Shanna Welch, Cameron Welch, Jordan Wursteisen, Destanie Austin, Parker Wursteisen, Katie Austin, Jessie Jenkins, Laiken Welch and Nathan Welch, and great grandchildren Asher Wursteisen and Reid Wursteisen.
Hollis is preceded in death by his parents, Audie Lee Welch and Thomas McCauley Welch, his brothers Sidney and Gerald Welch and his sister Lanelle Martin.
Hollis retired from the St. Tammany Parish School Board where he took much pride in making sure all schools were up and functioning throughout the parish. Prior to working for the School Board, Hollis was the manager of IGA Acquistapace Supermarket. As a young man Hollis served in the Merchant Marines. Hollis loved to go fishing, camping and most importantly, spending time with his family and friends.
Due to COVID-19, social distancing is encouraged and masks are required to attend services.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Avenue, Covington, LA 70433 on Saturday April 3, 2021 at 11:00 AM with visitation on Saturday beginning at 9:00 AM until time of service in the Chapel of E.J. Fielding Funeral Home. Burial will be in Sharps Chapel Cemetery.
