Hilda "Marie" Wittie Stanga's Obituary
Hilda “Marie” Wittie Stanga, age 89, of Covington, Louisiana, passed away on Thursday, May 29, 2025. She was born on March 22, 1936, in Robert, Louisiana.
She is survived by her loving husband of nearly 60 years, Henry “Vernon” Stanga, Jr.; brother, Curtis Wittie (Barbara); and many extended family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence Jacob Wittie and Hilda Robertson Hinckley; and siblings, Patsy, Rose Ann, and Silvia; and many extended family members and friends.
Marie attended Champ Cooper School and graduated from Hammond High School. She was a past member of the Madisonville Garden Club and particularly loved raising cows—she would talk to them and about them as if they were her own children. She was always ready and willing to lend a hand to any family member or friend in need, and she will be dearly missed.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs. Stanga may be made to a charity of your choice.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at 11:00 AM at E. J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 West 21st Avenue, Covington, Louisiana, with visitation beginning at 9:00 AM. Interment will follow in Stanga Cemetery on Stanga Cemetery Road in the Bedico Community.
