Henryetta "Tita" Rareshide Waguespack's Obituary
Henryetta “Tita” Rareshide Waguespack passed away on Monday, September 2, 2024 at the age of 89. She was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Richard Stephen Waguespack. She is survived by her brother Msgr. Lanaux Jules Rareshide, her children Richard Stephen Waguespack, Jr., Susan Waguespack Knowlton (John), Anne Waguespack Berteau (Bobby), and David Felicien Waguespack (Nicole), and by her grandchildren Stephen, Mary, Matthew, Sarah, Natalie, Charlotte, Emily, Andrew, Wilhelm, and Grace. She was the daughter of C.A. Lanaux Rareshide and Henryetta Bayle Rareshide and was predeceased by her brother Clarence Rareshide.
Tita was born in New Orleans on December 10, 1934. She graduated from Loyola University with a degree in education. After marriage, Tita and Richard moved to Cuba, then to Liberty, MS and finally to Covington which they called home for nearly fifty years. Tita was an active parishioner of St. Peter Catholic Church where she served as a eucharistic minister.
Tita was devoted to her Catholic faith and to her family. She was blessed with many close friends who appreciated her humor, kind spirit, loyalty and attentive listening.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at St. Peter Catholic Church, 125 E. 19th Ave., Covington, LA 70433 on Thursday, September 5, 2024 at 11:00 AM with visitation at the church beginning at 9:30 AM. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Abbey Cemetery, 75376 River Road, Saint Benedict, LA.
