To the family of one of the sweetest ladies, I have ever known.
My mother has recently had a stroke and is in the middle of the rehabilitating stage of her illness. Mom (Martha Bryan) is doing much better but is very fragile in her mind and emotions. I fear if I tell her that her dearest most precious friend has passed from this life it will destroy her--so please, allow me to speak on her behalf.
My mother is unable to speak very well due to the stroke affecting the speech center of her brain, but those who know her say they can understand her very well. Helana was that person who could understand Mom even when no one else could. Friends like Helena and my mother -- do not need words to communicate because their hearts were always communicating with each other. Helana would call my mother every day.
She was faithful to tell my mother that she loved her, not only did she tell her she loved her she also showed her that she loved her. My mother and Helana both suffered illness at the same time. Helena was dealing with her sickness but steady worrying about Mom and her well being. She never stopped loving and giving of herself even though her own situation was overwhelming and difficult.
Helena was my mothers best friend--a one in a lifetime friend. She will be missed but never forgotten.
Best Regards,
Vannesa Long on behalf of Martha Bryan
