Harold Allen Hinrichs' Obituary
Harold Allen Hinrichs of McKinney, TX passed away October 28, 2023 at the age of 65. He was born in New Orleans, LA on April 30, 1958 to Allen R. Hinrichs and Patricia Ganucheau Hinrichs.
Harold was raised in Metairie, LA. He had a 30-year career with the US Postal Service. When he retired, he was Postmaster of the Destrehan Post Office. Harold also served as a Reserve Deputy for the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s office.
He was survived by his beloved wife, Sandra Hinrichs, daughter Amanda Sexton (Shane), step children Michelle Wilson (Zack), Kathy Mills(Mike) and Mike Hagan(Leslie), two brothers, Patrick Hinrichs(Vickie) and Joe Hinrichs(Raschida) , grandchildren, Emily Sexton, Samantha Wilson(Trey), Andrew Wilson(Scout), Jackson Wilson, Angelle Sullivan(Chanse), Sarah Hagan, Sean Hagan, Brooks Mills and Oliver Mills, and six great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and a host of friends.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Allen and Patricia Hinrichs, sister, Donna Hinrichs and brother, Allen, Jr. Hinrichs.
Harold was a faithful member of the Knights of Columbus in New Orleans, Kenner and Mandeville, LA. He served in many capacities, including Grand Knight and Faithful Navigator. He served the longest in Council 12072 and Assembly 2922 in Mandeville. LA
He was an active member of Mary Queen of Peace from 1994 until he moved to McKinney TX in 2020.
He was diagnosed with Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2012. The last two and half years Harold was living in Grand Brook Memory Care in Allen, TX. The staff at Grand Brook and Anchor of Hope Hospice took excellent, loving care of Harold and his wife.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 1501 W. Causeway Approach, Mandeville, LA at noon on Mon, Nov. 6. Visitation is at Mary Queen of Peace from 10:30 to Noon. Burial will be at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens., 2260 W. 21st Street Covington
In lieu of flowers a donation to Catholic Aging c/o Matt Estrade 717 River Oaks Drive Covington, LA 70433. This is a Ministry for Aging and persons suffering with Cognitive Impairment.
