H. Scott “Bear” Weiss passed away on Thursday, January 21, 2010 at the age of 57.
Beloved husband of 33 years to Donna Jean Bartley Weiss. Father of Justin Scott Weiss and Rebecca Jean Weiss Thorne (and husband Jonathan G. Thorne). Grandfather of Alexander Scott Weiss, Jonathan Garrett Thorne and Olivia Jean Thorne. Son of the Ada and Morris Weiss. Brother of Jody Beth Weiss Clarke. Also survived by special mother-in-law, DeAnn Edwards.
“Bear” was born and raised in Des Moines, IA and was a resident of Mandeville for the past 28 years, a Certified Kitchen Designer for Home Depot for 18 years and a member of Life Gate Church in Mandeville.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a celebration of his life on Saturday, January 23, 2010 at 3:00 PM at Life Gate Church, 3699 Hwy 59, Mandeville, LA with visitation at church from 2:00 PM until service time.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in memory of Mr. Weiss be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in Memphis, TN.
