Gregory Garvey Gottschalk's Obituary
Gregory Garvey Gottschalk passed away peacefully on Friday, February 2, 2024, at home, in his favorite place, surrounded by his loving family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester R. Gottschalk, Sr. and Nellie A. Dumesnil, and his siblings, Chester R. Gottschalk, Jr. and Marceline Strickland.
Gregory is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Kathi Gottschalk, his adoring daughter, Lauree Grantier, son-in-law, Adam Grantier, and his five beautiful grandchildren, Paisley, Annamarie, Levi, Adrianna, and Ava. He is also survived by his siblings, Pauline Hammant, Paul Gottschalk (Pauline) and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was a native of Bucktown and had been a resident of Mandeville since 1983. He was a commercial fisherman and an avid hunter. Gregory, a prankster at heart, loved playing jokes and aggravating all those he loved.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at 12:00pm from the chapel of E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 West 21st Avenue, Covington, Louisiana. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until service time. Interment will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens. A Celebration of Life will be held following the interment at 1448 Carissa Dr., Covington, LA in the River Oaks Subdivision.
