Grace Derveloy's Obituary
Grace Derveloy entered eternal rest peacefully on Saturday morning, January 6, 2024, at the age of 92. She was born in Evangeline, Louisiana to Joseph Gay and Edith Romine Gay.
Grace is survived by her three daughters, Gayle Vaccaro, (Henry Vaccaro), Sandra Pecoraro, (Roger Pecoraro), and Donna Kellogg, (Robert Kellogg). Grace was also the proud grandmother of Andrew Vaccaro and Mary Cuccio, and the great grandmother of Aryanna Cuccio and Gabriel Cuccio. She was preceded in death by her husband Donald Derveloy, her parents Joseph and Edith, and brother Carlton.
Grace grew up in Iota, Louisiana in a time when there were many French speaking people there, including her parents, and attended school there until she graduated. She lived life simply as her family taught her, and the care of her home and family filled her days. Her lifetime love of gardening and nature was evident to everyone, and the hummingbirds and Canadian geese never went hungry. Her unwavering determination, self-sufficiency, and can-do attitude were truly inspiring.
The Derveloy family would like to express their deepest gratitude for the outstanding care provided by St. Tammany Hospice, and her three devoted and caring sitters, Hazel Barney, Angela Powell, and April Blair.
