Gordon Orme Jackson's Obituary
Gordon Orme Jackson passed away on May 18, 2010. He was born October 11, 1964 in New Orleans to James Norcom Jackson, Jr. and the late Mary Alice Reiss Jackson.
The beloved husband of Charlotte Walker Jackson, he is survived by one daughter, Madeline McCall Borque; his son, Reiss Baldwin Jackson; two sisters, Elizabeth O. Jackson and Peggy J. Napier; one brother, James N. “Buzz” Jackson III and his life long friend and business partner, C. Patrick Fulton.
A native of New Orleans and a resident of Covington since 1968, Gordon graduated from St. Paul’s School with the class of 1982 and attended Southeastern Louisiana University. He was an employee of Coastal Cargo Company, Inc. in New Orleans for over 10 years before starting his own custom cabinetry business in Covington in 1999.
Gordon was not only a devoted husband and loving father, but he impacted his community in such unique ways with his generosity, compassion and humble being.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend memorial services at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 21, 2010 at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Ave., Covington, LA 70433.
An evening visitation is scheduled for Thursday, May 20, 2010 from 6-8:00 PM.
Visitation will begin Friday at 10:00 AM.
A private interment at Metairie Cemetery will follow services.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made through Whitney National Bank to Jackson Children Educational Fund, 75757 Highway 1082, Covington, LA 70435.
