Gordon Russell Davis' Obituary
Gordon R. Davis was called home to be with our Heavenly Father on Tuesday August 10, 2021 at the age of 75. Beloved husband of Susan Caillouet Davis of 55 years. Loving father of Robert Allen Davis, Sherry Davis Marchese, and Nancy Marie Davis. Also surviving are his brother Glenn Ellis Davis, four grandchildren and two great grandchildren
Ol’ 45 was a life-long Oil & Gas Industry man. Earning his nickname from leaning on a 45 degree angle while supervising, he was highly regarded in his pipeline construction career. He spent numerous years traveling the world as a Chief Inspector on pipeline projects to support his family and children’s education…Thanks Daddy!
Being an avid deer and rabbit hunter, most of our childhood weekends were spent at his Talisheek property. He drove our mother crazy by putting his dead game on her clean countertop. Dad loved classic country music and terrible old western movies and tv shows. In his later years he took pride in his 10 acre land which now resembles a beautiful park-like campground with his deer stand. He loved cutting the grass on his big tractor and taking his loyal little buddy Nick for rides on his 4 wheeler. Dad was a good ol’ country boy to the end and most of his wardrobe & hats were of camouflage print. He was a crazy Saint’s fan and his Sundays were complete with 3 hours of screaming, cussing and mini heart attacks. Dad had a silly sense of humor and often referred to himself as “The Old Fart”.
We are sorry we have to say “later” Old Fart, you will be greatly missed by your family and friends. You are forever loved.
Gordon was preceded in death by his parents, George Ellis Davis and Katherine Tisdale Davis and his sister-in-law, Kathy Davis.
