Golden G. Richard, Jr.'s Obituary
Golden G. Richard, Jr., a true son of Louisiana, died Saturday, September 16, 2006 after a long illness. He evacuated to Austin, TX with his family after Hurricane Katrina and returned to New Orleans in December, 2005.
Golden, affectionately known as "Red" or "G.G." to his friends and family, was born in Lake Arthur, LA to parents Louise and Golden G. Richard, Sr. on March 15, 1937. He resided in the New Orleans area for the past 35 years and was employed, until his retirement, by Orleans Manufacturing Company.
He enjoyed cooking, fishing, hunting, and, most importantly, listening to country and western music.
He is survived by his sons, Golden G. Richard III and Barry Richard, his brothers, Chris Richard, Ken Richard, and Lanny Richard, his daughters-in-law, Daryl Richard and "Honey Bee" Richard, and his grandson, Golden G. Richard IV. Golden was a charming man and made friends easily. In addition to his family, he leaves behind scores of friends who will miss him greatly. He was preceded in death by his parents and his youngest son, Gerrod Graham Richard.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a celebration of his life at E. J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Avenue, Covington, LA on Saturday, September 23, 2006 at 3pm.
