Gloria Teresa Taconi Meiners' Obituary
Gloria Teresa Taconi Meiners, born in Algiers, LA August 28, 1927, the only daughter of Lydia Theodora Lange of Algiers, LA and Emile Archibald Taconi of Bay St. Louis, MS, passed away on Monday, September 8, 2014 at the age of 87.
Beloved wife of 49 years to the late Henry Walter Meiners, Jr. Loving mother of Sondra Meiners Johnson and the late Norwood Emile Meiners. Grandmother of Jason Alan Johnson (and wife Kathy) and Jeffrey Paul Johnson. Great-grandmother of Aiden Scott Johnson and Ashley Nicole Duncan.
She graduated from Holy Name of Mary School and Martin Behrman High School. She attended St. Mary’s Dominican College where she was a member of Theta Rho Sorority. She was a homemaker and retired Medical Librarian. She was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Altar Society and Legion of Mary. Gloria was a devout Catholic and dedicated her life to the Catholic Church.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 312 Lafitte St., Mandeville, LA 70448 on Thursday, September 11, 2014 at 11:00 AM with visitation at church on Thursday beginning at 10:00 AM.
Interment will follow in Mandeville Cemetery.
