Gloria Nilsa Domenech Nath's Obituary
Gloria Nilsa Domenech Nath, 93, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 2, 2025. She was born in Aguada, Puerto Rico on July 31, 1931.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Gabriel Augusto Nath; her children, Gabriel Nath, Jr. (Kim), Michael Nath and Carl Nath (Deena); her grandchildren, Candace Quinn, Eric, Brandon, Taylor, Aaron, Alyssa and Jared Nath; and her four great-grandchildren, Caroline, Georgia, Eleanor and John Philip Quinn. She is also survived by her siblings, Minerva Domenech, Ada Rosario (Willie), Eduardo Domenech (Virginia) and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Juana Nuñez Domenech and Eduardo Domenech; and her sister, Crisilda Domenech.
Gloria was a consummate people person. She loved learning and sharing things with practically anyone. She was an avid reader. She loved listening to music, dancing, and laughing. She and the love of her life for 69 years, Gabriel Augusto, were inseparable and dedicated so much to their three sons. She lived most of her life in Queens, NY, but spent seven years in Chalmette, LA near her son Gabe, until Hurricane Katrina brought her back to NY. Due to her declining health, she and her husband relocated back to Louisiana living in Mandeville near Gabe and his family. She got a chance again to see her “southern” grandchildren and her four great-grandchildren and share many happy moments. In 2024, she and Gabriel reigned as King & Queen of Mardi Gras at the Peristyle of Beau West where they resided. She was in her glory waving like Queen Elizabeth to her fellow residents. It was definitely a highlight moment for her.
She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the graveside service at Southeast LA Veterans Cemetery, 34888 Grantham College Drive, Slidell, LA 780460 on Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at 11:00 AM with a visitation at E. J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W 21st Avenue, Covington LA 70433 on Wednesday from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM.
