It is my privilege to be a friend of Michael. Respecting him as I do, reading about Gloria Hebert has been a revelation. Wish I could have known her as well. A MOST accomplished lady. We could have been friends. My sincere condolences to the entire Hebert family for this great loss. Dorothy Kelly of Baton Rouge.
I read Gloria's obituary because her beautiful picture caught my eye. I was impressed with the way it was written, and with the way she lived her life. To me, she embodied what the "Greatest Generation" was. The love and pride her children have for her was evident. After living a life with many challenges, I am so happy that she got to live her retirement years doing things she enjoyed. She definitely deserved it.
I was just left wondering, did Gloria have to pay for her children's education alone? What happened to Jerry?
My sincere condolences to the entire family for your great loss.
I will never forget how caring Aunt Gloria was, especially towards my teenaged self. She listened to me, supported and encouraged me, and she was a blessing to me. She was a strong, loving and courageous woman who led an amazing life. Sending condolences and love to her children and grandchildren.
I worked with Gloria for many years at CITGO in the Yield Accounting Department. She was a woman I truly admired. Her strength was evident. As a younger woman I had such respect for her not only in the workplace but in life. She told wonderful stories of her children and grandchildren. When she was ready to retire she made sure her replacement was well trained. I got to know her personally when she asked me to her home several times. I loved walking around in her yard as she told me about her plants.
I will never forget her! Rest in peace Ms. Gloria!
Praying for you James and Dana Hebert and your entire and extended family members. So sorry for your loss. May God be especially near you during and even after this trying time.
Love, Terry and Karen Cauthen and family
My sincere condolences to Gloria’s family. Gloria and I spent many hours sitting in our front yards under the trees on Orchard Dr. talking about gardening and commiserating about life in general and specifically about our families. She was a delightful and endearing friend to me. I had great admiration for her.
I didn't have the pleasure of meeting Ms Gloria but from reading obituary she seemed like an extraordinary lady. I don't usually read obits when I don't know the person but I'm glad I read it. It was uplifting and I just wanted her family to know that you did a wonderful job writing it. It sounds like she did a wonderful and special job raising her 5 children. Thanks for sharing a portion of her life.
I had the great pleasure of knowing and visiting with "Miss Glo" for many months during the time my husband was at Beau Provence. She was a lovely, lovely lady and always had her purse with her. Her life sounds amazing and I shall always remember her with joy.
