Glenn Clark Stewart Jr.'s Obituary
Glenn Clark Stewart, Jr. passed away on Friday, January 12, 2018 surrounded by family at his home in Covington, LA. He was born on September 29, 1952 in Springfield, MA to the late Glenn Clark Stewart, Sr. and Annette Christine Munro Stewart.
Glenn was married to his beloved wife, Beverly Stewart, for 42 years. He was the loving father of Renee S. Blanchard (Mark), Brenda L. Stewart, and Scott N. Stewart (Kelli). Glenn was the proud grandfather of Matthew, Elyse, Taryn, and Tyler Blanchard, Maylin, Kinley, Grace, Elle, and Graham Stewart. He was the brother of Bonnie Lani (the late Dan), Lynn Busch (Russ), and Janice Leightner (Tim).
Glenn C Stewart had 42 years of experience leading churches, church planting, and developing leaders. His ministry locations included First Baptist Church Willingboro, NJ as Christian Education Director, Senior Pastor at Faith Baptist Church Zephyrhills, FL, Senior Pastor at Riverdale Baptist Church, Flint, MI, Senior Pastor at Grandview Park Baptist Church, Des Moines, IA, and Founding Pastor and Senior Pastor at Faith Community Church, in DeBary Florida. He served as an adjunct professor of theology and leadership at the Orlando campus of Palm Beach Atlantic University, as the chairman of the board of Baptist Bible College, and on the Council of 18 for the General Association of Regular Baptist Churches. Along with his degrees in Bible and theology, he held a master’s degree in organizational leadership. Glenn’s passion was to see lives changed through the transforming work of the gospel.
Relatives and friends are invited to the Funeral Service at First Baptist Church of Covington, 16333 LA 1085, Covington, LA 70433 on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at 2:00 PM with visitation from 1:00 PM until service time. Interment will follow the service at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens, Covington, LA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Glenn C. Stewart Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 3819 Covington, LA 70434. Please make checks payable to LifeEquip and designate it to the Glenn C Stewart Scholarship Fund.This fund will be used to enable pastors to enhance their ministry through continuing education.
