Gift Kazingizi's Obituary
Gift Kudakwashe Kazingizi was called home by His Lord and Savior on Tuesday, March 12, 2019. He was born on February 22, 1972 in Bindura, Zimbabwe , the second of seven children.
Gift attended primary school in Bindura and went on to Kutama Boys College, a Catholic boarding school, for his secondary education from 1987 to 1990. Gift, affectionately known by his school mates as “Action”, attended Prince Edward Boys High School in Harare, Zimbabwe from 1991-2 where he did his Advanced Level studies. At Prince Edward, “Action” emerged as a leader, full of charisma and a talented sportsman. He was appointed a school prefect, team captain of the rowing team and also played for the 1st XV rugby team, the Tigers.
Gift’s first job was at a chain bakery in Harare, Zimbabwe before joining Caltex, a jointly owned subsidiary of Chevron and Texaco. A few years after, he got his first assignment with Chevron to Singapore and then onto New Zealand, Houston, Angola and most recently, Covington, Louisiana. Gift served Chevron faithfully for a total of 25 years.
Gift was a graduate of the University of Hull in England and Massey University in New Zealand where he obtained his MBA and Masters in Finance, respectively. An avid fitness enthusiast, Gift enjoyed daily gym workouts, cycling and swimming.
Aside from his easy-going attitude, signature smile and mild manner, Gift was a kind, self-sacrificing, magnanimous and gentle soul who loved the LORD. Family, friends, acquaintances and colleagues alike knew Gift as a man with a big heart, a quirky sense of humor and an upbeat attitude.
Gift is survived by his beloved wife, Edith Kemoneiloe Kazingizi and his children, Panashe and Tumelo. He is also survived by his father, Joram Kazingizi. Gift is preceded in death by his mother, Ansicaria (Mandizvidza) Kazingizi.
We, the family of Gift Kazingizi, are deeply grateful for all the support we received through the petitions of prayer, comfort and encouragement during Gift’s illness, and following that, our bereavement. We will forever treasure all who stood with us in our time of need as we have felt the love of all, near and far. Gift’s reach will truly be felt for a lifetime in the shared experiences and memories we hold dear in our hearts.
Thank you. Tinotenda
