Gerard J. Milto's Obituary
Gerard “Gerry” Milto passed away on Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at his home in Mandeville, LA. He was born on January 13, 1935 in New Orleans, LA to the late Oswald Milto and Alberta Rodemann Milto.
Gerry is preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, Pam Klimm Milto and his sister, Dawn Milto Cardinale.
Gerry was raised in the Irish Channel. He raced powerboats for over 20 years, with some degree of success. He drove many “Flying Cloud” boats for Uncle Pete Roques. Gerry also drove for Al Flair, former first baseman for the Boston Red Sox. He drove Al’s “Trice Ann” for 10 years and won 5 national championships. He also drove Jerry Bilbe’s “Tin Horn” for 4 years, winning many races.
Gerry was a member of the New Orleans Power Boat Association, the American Power Boat Association, the Operating Engineers and the National Street Rod Association. He was employed by the Brown Foundation as a yacht Captain for 20 years.
