Gerard "Jerry" Lucien Gaude's Obituary
Gerard “Jerry” Lucien Gaude passed away on Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at the age of 82. He was born in St. Martinville, LA on December 31, 1939 to Percy David Gaude and Marie Durand Gaude.
Jerry peacefully passed away surrounded by his wife, children and loved ones. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Jacqueline “Jackie” Donaford Gaude; his adoring children, Debbie Jenkins (Darrell), Donna Berkley (Frank), Glenn Gaude, Stephen Gaude (Margo) and Dennis Gaude (Theresa). He is also survived by his 12 loving grandchildren, Jeremy, Casey, Tiffani, Corey, Ashley, Kylah, Travis, Gavin, Gabby, Christian, Emma and Bryce; 5 great grandchildren, Troy, Audrey, Quentin, Nicole and Andrew; and his brothers, Bobby, Jimmy and John.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, David.
Jerry was a native of St. Martinville, LA and a resident of Franklinton, LA for since 2005. He graduated from Warren Eastern High School in 1957. Jerry worked for Illinois Central Railroad for 26 years. During his railroad years he also worked for Louisiana Industries and Gaye Optical in New Orleans, LA.
Jerry was an educator at heart. He was a kind and soft spoken person and always had time to answer a question or solve a problem, no matter how small. He was a very caring person to all. His true passion was spending time with his loving family and friends and will be deeply and dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service at E. J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W 21st Avenue, Covington Louisiana on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at 3:00 PM with visitation beginning at 1:00 PM until service time. Interment will be held at a later date.
