Geraldine "Gerry" Standige Hewson's Obituary
Geraldine “Gerry” Standige Hewson passed away on March 29, 2010. She was born January 23, 1931 in New Orleans to the late Paul and Augusta Weathers Standige and has been a resident of Covington since 1980.
The beloved wife of William Vincent Hewson, Jr., she is survived by her son, Gregory William Hewson and wife Nita Walker Hewson; one grandson, Jacob Walker Hewson; her sister, Shirley S. Delatte and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by seven sisters: Ruth Dampier, Anna Mae McCarthy, Ethel Duke, Theresa Hand, Catherine Sanders, Rita Lowe, Sophie Wallace; two brothers, Frank and Paul Standige and her sister-in-law, Althea Hewson Lemons Stire.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral mass at 12:00 Noon on Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at St. Jane de Chantel Church, 72040 Maple St., Abita Springs, LA 70420.
Visiting hours AT THE CHURCH will begin Wednesday at 10:00 AM.
Interment at the Abita Springs Cemetery will immediately follow mass.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jane de Chantel Catholic Church.
