George E. Marks, Sr. passed away on Sunday, November 20, 2011.
Beloved husband of the late Claire F. Marks. Loving companion of Janet Clift. Father of George E. Marks, Jr. (LaJuan), Elaine Marks Hebert (Michael), James G. Marks (Jean) and the late Jo Ann Marks Rucker (Gary). Brother of the late Mary Lou Provensal and Robert W. Marks. Survived by 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
A WWII veteran of the 706th Bomber Squadron, 8th Army Airforce and served in the 122nd Bomb Squandron, Louisiana Air National Guard. Member of Robert H. Burns American Legion Post 16. Former owner and operator of Lumber Importers Service, Corp. and Bulk Material Transfer, Inc. at Chalmette Slip, Arabi , La.
Age 91 years. A native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of the Covington-Mandeville area for the past 23 years.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral service from E.J. Fielding Funeral Home Inc., 2260 W. 21st. Ave., Covington, LA 70433 on Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at 11:30 AM. Visitation from 9:30 AM until service time. Interment in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations to Waldheim United Methodist Church, 77067 Hwy 21, Covington, LA 70435.
