George Frederick Davis' Obituary
George Frederick Davis passed away on Thursday, July 27, 2023. He was born on February 1, 1952 in Wichita, KS to the late Tommy Chris Davis and Callie Bernice Smith Davis.
George was the beloved brother of Dr. Anna C. Davis, Elizabeth G. Davis, Teresa Davis Richardson, and Virginia E. Davis. He was the loving uncle of Forrest Kuper, Lee Mayberry, Alexander LeDoux, Davis Ledoux, and Madeleine Richardson.
George was a Geophysicist, Petroleum Engineer, and Geologist. He was a graduate of Tulane University class of 1979. He received his Master Degree in Petroleum Engineering in 1983.
He had great intellect and could converse on any subject, and was a great storyteller, along with a sharp witty sense of humor. George kept up with current events and could draw from history any parallel to similar circumstances and would speak at length on the details. George could play several instruments by ear, and was especially known for his piano playing. He loved the country and often spoke of the beautiful pine trees at our grandparent’s old home place and the wonderful memories he had there as a child. He never met a stranger and was gracious to all who knew him. During his lengthy illness the nurses said he was always laughing and joking with them, and would do kind things for the nursing staff. He is resting at peace now and will be missed by his family and friends.
