Hello my name is James M. "Marty" Rabalais III. My mother told me yesterday 4/13/16, that the Dr. that put the cast on my foot as an infant to correct the club foot that I was born with had passed away and the obituary was in the Times Picayune. I was born in 1963 in Maryland. as my father was also drafted in to the Army and stationed in Maryland. I was brought back to my parents home town in New Orleans shortly after. I was born with a club foot. My parents brought me to Dr. George C. Battalora, JR. Dr. Battalora put a cast on my foot. I wish I had thanked him in person. Because of him, I was able to lead a normal life with no disability regarding my lower extremity. I played sports growing up and I am still extremely active today. For years, I have participated in 5K runs to benefit ALS, Breast Cancer, Spina Bifida and more. And, I for years, I bicycled both the MS Tour for Cure 150 mile bicycle ride for MS and also the Tour de Cure 100 mile bicycle ride for Diabetes. I cannot imagine my life and the limitations that i would have had, had Dr. Battalora not done that procedure way back in 1963. I love being able to participate in these events and to also raise money and awareness. I will be participating in the Tour de Cure again this year, Sat April 16th. Thank you Dr. George C. Battalora, JR. God Bless you and your family!!!
