Generoso Manuel Menendez's Obituary
Generoso Manuel Menendez passed away on Saturday, January 21, 2023. He was born in Aviles, Spain on May 1, 1938, to Jose Menendez del Busto and Maria de la Luz Gonzalez de la Vega.
He is survived by his loving wife, Suzanne Chambless Menendez of 54 years; his child Dr. Eduardo Menendez (Dr. Nicole W. Menendez) and his grandchildren, Jose Luis Menendez, Miguel Menendez, and Cristina Menendez Coto. He was the brother of Manuel Angel Menendez Gonzalez.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Jose Menendez Gonzalez, and his son, Reed Anthony Menendez (Maria Benigna Coto Trancho).
He was a native of Aviles, Spain and was graduated from the Spanish Merchant Marine Academy and retired with the rank of Captain. Mr. Menendez began his own ship scrap metals business, Desguazes Hemesa S.A. in Gijon, Spain and retired from the business in 1989. He has lived with his wife for the past 18 years in Abita Springs, La.
Mr. Menendez was loving, compassionate, and most of all a very caring person to all. He will dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
