Gaynell Mary Delcazal Molinet's Obituary
Always with a smile, the first thing you noticed in Gaynell was her bubbly, friendly, outgoing personality. She loved to laugh, often the loudest when playing Booray with the “Sharks” in New Orleans.
Born Gaynell Mary Delcazal in New Orleans on May 11, 1933, she lived a full life until June 19th, 2024, passing quietly in Covington, La. at the age of 91. She was a dedicated nurse for nearly 50 years, a master gardener and was always ready for adventure . When her 6 children were small she had multiple greenhouses, selling hanging begonia baskets that were the rage for many miles around. She and her second husband and soul mate , Joaquin Molinet, traveled in their motor home visiting daughter Arlene (Gary) in Fairbanks, Alaska, daughter Judy ( Jim ) in Saratoga Springs, NY, daughter Nancy( Edgar ) in Washington State and Arizona, traveled to visit son Edwin ( Katrina ) in Australia and England, daughter Peggy ( Rick ) in Brazil and Fairbanks, and daughter Carol in Texas. She loved her 13 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren and easily was titled the Best Grandmother in the World.
One summer she worked as a Guard at the Saratoga Race Track and was by far the fastest bean picker in any veggie garden. Gaynell was generous to a fault, very much loved and appreciated by her family for the help and encouragement she provided and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She loved her family and good food!
