Gaye Wertz's Obituary
Gaye Wynell Wertz passed away on Friday, September 6, 2013 at the age of 65. She was a native of Columbus, GA and a resident of Lacombe, LA for the past 17 years.
She was the daughter of the late Paul Arthur and Wynell Tindell Wertz. Beloved mother of Phillip Wertz. Loving sister of Edward Wertz and Carroll Wertz. Gaye is also survived by her nephew, Paul Wertz.
She began her teaching career in New Orleans before moving to the northshore. She was a faculty member of Bayou Lacombe Junior High, Southeastern Louisiana University and Fontainebleau Junior High. Gaye was a talented pianist and loving, devoted mother. Her strong spirit will be greatly missed.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a gathering at Fontainebleau State Park at a pavilion near the beach on Sunday, September 22, 2013 at 12:00 Noon. Call Phillip at (985)630-9954 for more information.
