Gary Loyd's Obituary
Gary Loyd passed away on Monday, November 8, 2021 in Covington, LA at the age of 69. He was born in Bogalusa, LA on June 7, 1952 to Denver Loyd and Lucille Sharp Loyd.
Gary is survived by his wife, Francine Mattle Loyd. He is also survived by his siblings, Maurice Loyd (Wanda), Heather Clark (James) and Linda Reid (Russel). Gary did not have any children, but was “Papa Gary” to many nieces and nephews.
Gary is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Clinton Loyd.
Gary was an Army veteran. He was a truck driver most of his life and loved riding the roads.
He loved traveling to different countries to learn how other people lived. During his travels he swam with dolphins and sting rays and watched whales. He also enjoyed fishing, cooking outside and entertaining family and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to the Funeral Service at New Zion Baptist Church, 17387 New Zion Church Road, Covington, LA 70435 on Friday, November 12, 2021 at 12:00 NOON with visitation from 10:00 AM until service time. Interment will follow the service at New Zion Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be John Mizel, James McLain, Ryan Loyd, Lane Sharp, Rustin Loyd and Joshua Loyd.
