Gary E. Houston's Obituary
Gary E. Houston, age 76, of Folsom, Louisiana, passed away on Monday, January 19, 2026. He was born on March 27, 1949, in Missouri.
He is survived by his children, Tracy Bourgeois (Darren), Tiffney Archer (Joe), and Sam Houston (Tomas); grandchildren, Antonia Poche (Nathan), Darian Ottmers (Ryan), Megan Griffin (Austin), and Alivia Bourgeois (Tristan); and great-grandchildren, Audrey Poche, Eleanora Easley, Barrett Easley, Lydia Easley, and Landon Stockstill; brother, Robert House (Jan); and many extended family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Walter Houston and Margarette Darlene Tune Houston.
Gary proudly served his country in Vietnam as an Army Staff Sergeant in the 82nd Airborne Ranger Division K Company 75th Infantry. He was also a recipient of the Bronze Star for Valor in Battle as well as the Purple Heart.
His love for God, country, and family guided his life. He was proud to call himself “The Paw Paw Monster” and will be remembered for telling his family “I love you more”.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Forest Manor and St. Catherine’s Hospice for the care they have shown to their father.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mr. Houston may be made to your local animal shelter.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the graveside memorial service on Monday, February 2, 2026, at 1:30 PM at Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, 34888 Grantham College Drive, Slidell, Louisiana, with inurnment to follow.
