G. Lee Russell, Jr.'s Obituary
Garland "Lee" Russell, Jr., of Mandeville, passed away on Saturday, August 12, 2017. He was born to Beulah Odell Smoot and Garland Lee Russell, Sr. in Huntsville, AL on Tuesday, January 20, 1942 and has been a resident of Louisiana for over 40 years.
The beloved husband of Betty Bonura Russell for over 40 years, Lee is survived by three sons - Bryan Lee Russell (Holly), G. Daryn Russell (Christina) and Matthew Chandler Russell (Julie); one sister - Beulah Naomi "Tacky" Church; and eight grandchildren - Jacqualann, Kurstyn and Bryan Lee, Jr., Lauryn and Landyn, Jullian, Lynnox and Chandler. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister - Frances Cora Neely,
The family would like to express sincere gratitude to the doctors, nurses and staff that work the 600's wing of Forest Manor for the gracious and gentle care consistently given to their beloved Lee. Knowing he was always in good hands provided tremendous peace and made a difficult time more bearable.
Visiting hours will be held for family and friends on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 from 2 - 4:00 PM at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Ave. Covington, LA 70433.
Private graveside services will be held on a later date at the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Slidell, LA.
